A hoodie I made, inspired by a Mudkip one a friend of mine has.
Face details are embroidered, and it's made from anti-pill fleece, because I live in Ohio and it's colder than a mofo here. XD
The stomach panel is sewn in, and the tail is top-stitched, that seems to have worked well. Most Pokehoodies I'm doing will have plush tails, but with Mewtwo, since his tail is so large, that didn't seem like a good design.
On me, the hood ends at my eyebrows, it only comes down that far on the form because it's a neckless small wig head not meant to be perched on a dressform.
I wanted to make a chest plate thing like Two has, but it wouldn't have washed well for one, and also, with my err...ample chest, it would never have layed flat, it would have stuck out all oddly.
I plan on making more of these types of Pokemon hoodies to sell at cons, with other Pokemon like Lucario, Luxray, some Eevee evolutions, Charizard, and whatever else is popular and will sell. It'll pretty much be whatever I feel like making, I'm not taking commissions per se.
I will not be making any more of the mewtwo design or any of the pokemon I make for friends as gifts either, when I make something for a good friend as a gift, I like it to be personal and exclusive to them, as it's more special that way, my apologies.
Wasn't sure where to put this, it's not really a costume, as I plan to wear it as an everyday garment.
This is defiantly a wonderful display of creativity and skill! The detail in the eyes is absolutely amazing. The hoodie looks comfortable and it appears to fit the human form quit well. I can especially appreciate the detail and evenness of the stitch work. The colors of the fabrics are well matched and don't stray from that of the original characters. The effort in this is phenomenal. This is a work that any pokemon fan or fashion enthusiast could enjoy. I would suggest this to anyone who appreciates good craftsmanship and has an eye for detail. great job on this.
I saw this on the main page and had to look closer at it-- my sister was a MAJOR pokemon brat as a kid. It is very well done. You should make a Bulbasaur hoodie!

I was a major Pokebrat too, and Mewtwo was always my favorite. Thanks though! I was considering making the original 'starter Pokemon' actually, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. I like Pikachu, but I've seen that done before. ^^
LOL, yeah, it had have to have the neck thingie. I wanted the chest thing too, but it wouldn't look right on me...sadness.
Thanks muchly though! I like his tail too, though I need to go back and satin stitch the edges, it's only stay stitched right now, but alas, I am out of ball point needles.
I'm really liking the embroidery too, which is great, because I'm horrible at painting, and I don't think iron on transfers wash well. I just keep looking at the eyes and laughing, it's so ridiculous looking on a sweatshirt, it looks so angry and serious! XD
